Paramillo National Park is one of Colombia's most precious natural treasures. Besides being an unparalleled water source, it also acts as a vital bridge, a biological corridor that allows the biodiversity of the Pacific and the Andes to merge and create a unique ecosystem. In the heart of its peaks lives the Emberá Eyábida people, the "mountain people," who have protected this territory since time immemorial. Today, they generously open their homes to guide us in discovering their worldview , the richness of their natural world, their culture, and the flavors of their cuisine.

Although the pace will be slow, with ample time for dialogue and reflection, amidst the community's hospitality and the power of the landscape, time will fly by, or stand still, or both. The journey begins in Mutatá, near Medellín and Apartadó, yet far removed from everything; this is where the immersion in the Eyábida cultural experience begins. Tubing down the Maíz River sets the rhythm and points the way forward.

After a comfortable night in Kelly's cabin—the former governor of the reserve, a professional hunter who also studied fine chocolate making in France, and who will be our guide throughout the visit—the next day's destination is the depths of Paramillo National Park. A 16 km hike, feeling the presence of the jaguar at every step and admiring the natural wonders of Salto del Tigre and the giant pool of Chontadural . To conclude, the third day culminates with Ancestral chocolate therapy, learning to prepare the finest chocolate from tree to bar with massages included in paradise

In the end, more than a journey, what remains is the pulse of the mountain people etched in our memories. A trip to return with answers, admiration, and gratitude for our indigenous ancestors and their care for our invaluable and beautiful nature.
